Prayer Before Birth
This poem ‘Prayer Before Birth’ is about a child who prays to God he is now in the womb of the mother, before falling the world he pray to God that protect him from every bad thing. He pray God in different thing.
In the first lines of the first stanza the unborn child says “ Hear me, I am not yet born’.
In the first stanza unborn child prays to God and also complying about such thing which how present in the world. He express his fear about ‘ Blood sulking Bat’ and he says that some time that ‘chores’ it’s outer appearance is danger and also his acts and behaviors also dangerous.
In the second stanza he consoles God and express his fear about ‘ Tall walls’ it’s considered the strong rules and regulation of the society. Which stand as a wall between people and also from ‘wise lies’ which is spoken by cruel persons.
In the third stanza he prays God to provide him water to purify his sins, grass, grow for him, tree talk with him, sky guide him and sing for him and also the birds and light.
In the forth stanza he ask ‘ forgiveness’ for his sins. And also for his bad words and thoughts and ask forgive for what will happened because of him.
In fifth stanza he prays God ‘ To rehears’ him about parts that he has to play and action the ‘Lectures’ of elder people to because moral person. Officer person hector him and when ‘Desert calls him a doom, Beggar refuses his gift and when his children curse him’.
In the next stanza he talks about the people who become god ‘ who is a beast’ because he trying to replaced the god which thing impossible. So he prays to save me from those people.
In the next stanza he ask god for give me strength to face those people whose humanity is freeze. And also whose people who drag me badly and also those who are corrupt people.
So in this poem the unborn child prays to god about his present and future. He don’t want to corrupt his soul, he don’t to some people around her with negative views.
Thus this poem reflect the picture of the present corrupted world and nature of the people who effected on this unborn child.
