On the 15th September 2017, Department of English, MK Bhavnagar University  organized  one good  session with the Gujarati Short stories writer Dr. Prof. Mehendrasinh Parmar, he is head of the Department of Gujarati, MK Bhavnagar University.

He came last year in sem – 1 also , at that time he talked on his short story “ Intellectual   Indubhai”.  This time he talked on three  stories written by him,

1)      Polytechnic
2)      Have kai polytechnic
3    3)     Udancharakhakladi

When he started his talked at that time first he talked that how many troubles came during the publication of these stories. Because some editors likes and some don’t like. Because the subject of this story is very trivial like suchalau ( Toilet) Thee stories wrote in 2002 and so all stories written before 15 years, which are published in “ Sabadsrusti” of Gujrat shahitya Akadami.  Movie ‘ Toilet ek Premkatha’  came on  2017 and one Gujrati film “ Pay and use” also came. When we read these stories at that time we realized that how many things are same . But  when I read the original stories at  that time I enjoyed a lot, I felt esthetic delight, because how beautifully he wrote these.  very beautifully he describe the some area of Bhavnagar like AV School, Gadechi Vadla, Panvadi etc. He  wrote this problem in comic way but in deep we find the reality and bitter truth of our society.  He wrote well on that social problem. It is more related to the “ Swachata Abhiyan” .This story like “ Art for Life sake”.  This is the real canon of literature it’s challenge by new way of writing.  His stories at one level connect with the term comedy of menace. We can say that these story came in post modernism also.

So, I am very thankful to Dr. Prof. Dilip Barad that he provide such a wonderful opportunity and thanks Mahendra sir to give a such a fruitful knowledge.
